Breeze was a surprise one rainy Saturday. She was sweet and spunky, but her feet were incredibly neglected.
All of her feet flared, but this one had turned under over time. Judging by the x-rays, she has been like this for years, possibly never trimmed in her entire life.
When she walked, she would go right over onto the outside of her ankle.
At rest, you can see the extent of the warp.
She was walking on the side of her foot, shredding the hoof wall.
Another angle to show the warp.
After her first trim - no more forced rolling!
It may take up to a year, but now that she has an edge to stand on, we are very hopeful that she can be tipped up over time to a "normal" position.
However, the coffin bone will be permanently warped from the years of neglect.
Breeze is getting around really well, even running and being silly!
