I heard back from the vet on Cooper's bloodwork... he does NOT have Cushings Disease! So, his rough, long coat is merely due to malnutrition as I had hoped! I never thought I'd be happy that a horse wasn't healthy, but in this case it's a better alternative! We noticed him starting to shed out today, so were very hopeful that he was alright and then the vet called half an hour later and confirmed it! So, with proper nutrition and a springtime of shedding behind him - Cooper is going to be good as new! There's a butterfly under all that hair! LOL
I'm also happy to say that Calypso and Spirit will be going their new home this weekend! We did the home check today and it is a little slice of Mini paradise there! They will have a great life and it's awesome to see them go together.
Tuffi had her teeth done yesterday and had her full vet check. She has a small repiratory issue that we'll be keeping tabs on, but seems otherwise healthy. The farrier did her feet and we are hoping that this life-change for her may result in her laminitis disappearing. Time will tell on that one. She is settling in well at her foster home and is always happy to see me when I check on her.
I have a picture here of our new pal Samwise. He is a very friendly guy and is quickly becoming a favourite of mine. Strange things have to be dealt with on his terms. He feels that he gets to decide when I get his face to halter him up. He always checks a new ground surface with a tap of his toe after stopping abruptly. If he thinks it won't gobble him up, he then proceeds like nothing happend! LOL
