He's baaaa-aaaaack!

Liz working with Rufio and "the ball" at the Jonathan Field Horsemanship Centre.

Rufio is back!  He has spent a couple of months at the Jonathan Field Horsemanship Centre.  He is a changed pony!  He is still learning, but seems to actually enjoy interacting with humans now!  It is just amazing to see the difference in his attitude and even in the way he holds himself.  I don't know what this little guy went through before he came to us, but it really messed him up!  If you recall, it took me a month to even get close enough to touch him.  Today, he was burning around at liberty and then when Liz asked for his attention, he trotted in a straight line across an entire arena right up her!  Now comes the test to see if we can transfer the positive progress to a new environment and handler.  Liz gave me a lesson today on Jonathan Field's method, so we'll see if I can keep Rufio headed in the right direction.  It almost brought a tear to my eye when I unloaded him and led him around the shop to the back of the property...  he was walking right up beside me, confident, curious and looking forward to seeing what was around the corner.
