I think that Rhapsody and Triumph are finally full. There was enough hay left over this morning for Triumph to have a nice extra- fluffy bed to lie on! LOL They are both doing just fine and dandy. The farrier came and did their feet. Nothing too terrible, time and trims will take care of that department. Triumph's eyes have lost their "bulgy" look, so we think that the ointment is working and will continue for another week with it. He does not seem to mind me poking him in the eye twice a day, luckily! I did the second round of powdering on him and Rhap this afternoon as well. Hopefully that will do it and their skin will then be able to heal up. I have not seen them itching at all since the second or third day - so along with the wormer, I think it's working to rid them of their unwanted guests.
Triumph is getting quite friendly these past couple of days. He will poke his head into the shelter while I'm in there cleaning and he is not hard to catch at all anymore. He'll still walk away, but he will stop and let me come up to him after a few steps. Rhapsody is still very leary, but I can catch him out in the open now, as opposed to having to corner him in the shelter. Though he still does not want me near, Rhap is talking to me now. He gives me that classic chuckling nicker to let me know that he DOES know what grain is and would likely eat it if I would be so kind as to fill his bowl! LOL I am slowly introducing the extras into their diet.
Let's see, who else... oh yes - Kipper is back home! Prairie has a new horse friend, so Kipper was able to come home. He did a great job keeping Prairie company after his friend passed away. They now have a new horse and she and Prairie are getting along famously! Kipper came back and Plum is soooooooooooo happy to have an active pal to play with! He's been stuck with all these fuddy-duddy's who don't know how to have a good time! LOL I weighed Kipper today and he is an astonishing 226 pounds! He has lost 84 pounds in eight months! Yay Kipper! He could lose maybe another 10 or so - that's all!
Plum is doing alright. He is getting a weekly massage to help his muscle developement. He's put on some good weight and is starting to fill out in the right places. We are doing everything we can to see if he'll go "right" and be able to avoid the tendon-severing operation. Folks have been emailing me lots of ideas to try to help avoid that last resort. Thanks everyone!
Storm has lost over 15 pounds so far, I can't remember if I talked about that last week or not. He's just doing his thing and healing up from his surgery. He had a little cold, but is feeling much better now. I will be putting him up for Adoption any day now.
Sam is just good ol' Sam. He is definately the boss of the herd. Kipper usually loosens him up though and even Plum has been trying to get him to play. I do hope that Sam finds his home soon. He is ready to go and just needs a place where he'll be loved and where he doesn't have to be defensive about his food and personal space. He just wants to hang out and take it easy.
Jupiter and Mulligan are doing good too. Mulligan finally has a front tooth starting to pop through on the bottom there, so he's getting his Christmas wish! LOL
