Well, today we picked up our first "official" rescue since becoming a Society!
This is Jupiter! He is a 31" silver bay stallion. I will be filling in his specs as I get them verified.
However, Jupiter is very sweet and leads very lightly. He does not seem to mind dogs, kids, or travelling.

Jupiter was put through the auction last Sunday. We were not there, but I heard about him that evening on TMS. I put some feelers out and found him at J&M Acres Horse Rescue. We offered to take him if they were full, and Julie was happy to hand him over, as she deals with big horses usually. (If you need a big horse - she's got some cuties!)
Poor Jupiter is terribly obese. He cannot walk properly as his fat deposits actually interfere with his movement. His feet are very neglected as well. First things first, he will be wormed and powdered. He'll have his feet done ASAP and the vet will be out this week to give him a check and geld him, once his feet are done. I don't think that we'd be able to trim his hinds if he was sore from being gelded. He has a hard enough time lifting them already! Then, we'll have a look at his teeth. Judging by his weight and his coat (or lack thereof), I theorize that he was kept inside a barn for the past eight months or so, at least.
