Jupiter is still doing his "thing".... which is losing weight and being sore on alternating legs as his body adjusts. I am beginning to suspect that his hind end is permanently damaged and will not be able to be fully repaired, but we'll see.
Rufio is responding very well in the round pen. He is VERY responsive and willing to interact. He will turn inwards and let me walk up to his face and pet his nose. He is very fun to work with! I can see what looks like a hoofprint from a large horse indented in his ribs behind his shoulder. I haven't been able to get close enough to see if it is just muscle damage and if it is sensetive. He has no trouble moving though, so I would assume it is an older injury. I am hoping that it will not interfere with the girth of a driving harness, because this boy would rock at CDE!
Sable is interesting. He does not really like to think things through, he just reacts. I get the feeling though, that once he comes around, he will be easier to finish than Rufio. He just goes with the routine, and right now, his routine includes being afraid to be handled. Once he's "caught", I think he'll stay "caught". He is so beautiful! Now that the stains have worn off, he has one white hind foot and he also has a nice little star on his forehead!
