Where did January go?

Hi!

Well, our darling Minuette left today.  She had a big day of travelling and is now safe and sound in her new home on Vancouver Island.  Apparently she's settling in well and making friends already.

Everybody else had a big day too.  After Minuette left, we changed things up in the Paddocks.  We've got two new ones on the way early next week.  Candy is leaving on Saturday to make her way to her new home and we've got to see who can be with who so that the two new boys can have a paddock each to themselves at first.  I may find a temporary foster home for Hula, just to have her out of the picture for a bit.  Best to not have a mare around when we're trying to get recent geldings to be civilized.  LOL

The vet came out on Wednesday.  We had Hula's blood checked to be sure that she does not have any underlying conditions that would be interfering with her progress.  She just looks rough.  Her tests came back fine, so she's just got a lot of years of poor care to make up for.  Good nutrition, time and TLC are all she needs.

The vet was very happy with Triumph's progress and Rhapsody is being put up for Adoption.  He is physically healthy and will have to go to a home where his attitude issues will be appreciated.  He is very fun to work with and I can just imagine the day when he finally gives in and trusts someone.  What a feeling that will be!

Storm is on meds for a runny nose.  We are going to have to make sure that he was just reacting to being moved again, and does not have a chronic problem as he had a runny nose when he arrived two months ago as well and was treated for it.  He has mellowed out some, but still does not get along with other x-stallions.  He wants to eat them for breakfast.  LOL

Everyone else is same-old and doing just fine.  Here is a picture of Triumph and Rhapsody out for their first walk last week.  A huge thank you to Brianne and company for their consistant, hard work with these two.  They have put in many hours to get these boys to the point where this is possible.

And here's more pictures from that snowy day... Rhapsody was enjoying himself!  (Don't worry, he and all his pals got a good grooming that day.  They were all enjoying the snow and so were spikey!  LOL)
