Well, Jupiter and Mulligan got the ol' snippety-snip today. I took everyone over to the shipping scales in the shop so that the vets could give them accurate meds. Mulligan is a whopping 80 lbs. Hahaha! Nimo, who is 32.5" and in decent shape weighed 220 lbs. I weighed him just to have something to compare Jupiter to. Jupiter is only 31", but he weighed an UNBELIEVABLE 320 lbs!!! He is 100 lbs overweight! That is 1/3 of his body mass. Poor guy! The vets were astounded - they have never seen anything as fat as him, that lives to tell the tale anyways! He even has fat deposits in his legs! The surgeries went well and the boys are in their recovery stalls now. Dr. Anne Dick is our newest "Hero" - she is going to donate a complete exam to each horses that arrives at Pipsqueak Paddocks! Thanks so much!!! The vets always have an interesting time here at the Paddocks. Today, Dr. Dick got to geld the fattest horse ever, and the smallest horse!
